As part of the viral #BlackPantherChallenge campaign, IMAX, Regal Entertainment Group, Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios, are teaming up to host an advance IMAX screening of Black Panther for the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle on February 15, 2018, a day before the eagerly anticipated film opens to the masses.
According to officials, “after raising over $40,000 on GoFundMe to take members of the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem to see Black Panther in theaters this month, New York resident Frederick Joseph launched the #BlackPantherChallenge. He called on others to start a GoFundMe in their community to take more kids to watch Black Pantherin the theatre, so they can learn about these exciting new superheroes. Since then, the challenge has grown and received national recognition from celebrities and entertainment companies alike looking to help this effort.”
Black Panther was directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman as the title character. It is scheduled to be released nationwide on Friday, Jan. 16.
